Today was appointment two for the week. I now go to 2 appointments a week and surprisingly found out today I will be taking a stress test every time to make sure McCoy is okay. The stress test is just them hooking me up to a machine to monitor McCoy's heart beat for 20 minutes. During the stress test I got extremely light headed, I felt like I could throw-up, and I was sweating all over. This happened twice during the 20 minutes of being hooked up. They said it could be because I was laying down but I think because it stressed me out I was even having to take a stress test. I asked the doctor if we could set a date to be induced and he did not want to give a date yet but said he wanted it as close to 39 weeks as possible. My blood pressure was really good so I hope that stays the same. He also checked me to see if I had dilated at all or if my cervix had changed since the last time finding out I was 70% effaced and nothing has changed. He did say that McCoy is very low and seems ready at anytime, and therefore is surprised that nothing has changed. I also lost 4 pounds since Monday, which I think could be me trying to cut back on salt and water retention going down a lot. My feet do not look nearly as bad as they did before.
After the doctor I went to my school to finish signing papers for me being out on maternity leave. I decided to stop by my room to say hello....I was there an hour. Let me tell you I am SOOOO glad I am on bed rest. The sub that is taking my spot was there, and my parapro was out as well. So I stayed and tried to show her the ropes a little since I had not had a chance to do that. I think that in that one hour my blood pressure shot up big time. It felt pretty good knowing that I did not have to go back after leaving.
I am back at home now laying on the couch watching T.V and loving every minute of it for now. I go through periods of "I'm bored," but overall I much rather be here doing this than at school stressing out.

no more school for you!
ReplyDeleteI remember the stress test for one of my pregnancies. In my case, the baby was one week late, and the test showed that my fluid was decreasing, so I was induced.
ReplyDeleteTry to think of all these tests as methods to ensure a very good delivery for your very healthy son!
EnJoy your time off!
