O that Army!

Well I am trying not to be an Army hater but I think that is how it's going to come out. There have been so many different dates the Army has given Hector as well as Lauren as to when he will be coming home from Haiti.

First it was 2-5 months, then 3-6 months, then July 18th was the official date of him coming home. When a lot of the wives that live in North Carolina heard it was going to be July many of them made the decision to leave North Carolina and go back to their home states to be with their families. Lauren and Hector made the decision to break the lease with their apartment and move anything left in NC to their Georgia home. So Lauren, Nora, and my mom drove up with a trailer, cleaned the place and were officially done their. About 2 weeks later they got word that 82nd airborne would be coming home today, February 28. We were soooo excited along with Hector.

So Lauren starts the process of getting an apartment for Hector to come home to after she had just moved the other one to GA. She packs her car with all of Hectors things and a 4 month old baby and heads up on Friday. Yesterday, Saturday, they get word that it is not going to be today it could be a week or another month....... Maybe this is the "normal" Army way but it is killing me!

My Week Off

I am going to work on rotating the pictures because this is annoying....

The countdown ended and I am back on my full week off for Winter Break. We actually had last Friday off as well because of snow. It was gorgeous! I am a little tired of the rain and cold so when the sunny days do come I hope to be outside. I still have the lingering sore throat and runny noise but for the most part I am feeling back to normal.

We have been checking things off on our long list to do and I have a couple of pictures to share. Matt and his friend moved out 2 pieces of furniture and one nice big dresser into our room. My family came over and painted the master bedroom and hopefully today I am going to get some curtains rearranged in the house too. The day that we painted my uncle came over the move cables for our T.V as well, he is so sweet! So all I need now are just a couple things for the master bedroom and it will be set.

Happy 26th to Me!

It's my birthday! I am the big 2-6! I have been pretty sick but feel better today. I stayed home yesterday but went to work today....only 2 more days and I am off a week so I figured I could tough it out. My sisters brought me lunch today...so sweet! And tonight Matt and I went out to eat.

This is a picture that Matt took on MY BRAND NEW CAMERA!! Thanks to everyone that gave me my camera, I love it!!! Especially since little McCoy will be coming in 13 weeks. I am in the process of just trying to figure out the basics but I did already figure out how to get a picture on here so that is a start. This is my belly at 27 weeks.

One Thing Down...

I have had a pretty productive week....and that feels good! At school I got a lot of paper work done, not to say it is all done but I am getting there and not feeling so overwhelmed.

This weekend I have been a little busy, which has felt good. My sister, Lauren, came over last night to hang out with Matt and I. Matt cooked a delicious dinner and that must have gotten mine and Lauren's creative juices flowing. We were able to clean out the old office/junk room and make it into one nice guest bedroom. It only took us about an hour and it was a complete makeover! We also redid the bathroom downstairs. Everything looks great and we did not spend a dime. We took things from other parts of the house and made it look great. I already had my first guest last night, Lauren and Nora. Nora slept in the bassinet we have so the room has already been put to good use. I am hoping to post pictures a little later of the new room.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Feeling Better

Well I have officially started my 26th week of pregnancy and the 3rd trimester. I already feel better than I probably have my entire pregnancy. I am not as tired as I was in my 1st trimester and my back does not hurt as bad as it did in the 2nd trimester.

About a week ago I called the doctor because I was having sharp pains in my back. They came to the conclusion that I had a pinched sciatic nerve. It would stop me in my tracks....I would be walking and then all the sudden felt like a knife went in my back. This past Sunday I worked in our neighborhood front entrance and cut 24 crate myrtles.....my back was fine. The pain has not come back yet so I think I am cured for now.

So my brother-in-law, Hector, has been able to stay in touch with my sister, Lauren, pretty much every day since he has gotten a phone in Haiti. She had heard as well as Hector different times periods that they would have to stay. Anywhere from only 3 weeks to maybe 5 months. Well the official word right now is that he will be there until July 18th.....6 months. Lauren is not very happy about this and neither is Hector. So send your thoughts and prayers their way as they try and make it through the next 6 months.
