Well I am officially the mom that will take their child to the doctor way to much just to be on the safe side, which I found out is a good thing. On Friday I noticed that there was some white stuff on McCoy's tongue that was not coming off. I immediately thought that it was thrush and called the doctor to make an appointment. Since he was almost 2 weeks at the time they said they would go ahead and do his 2 week check up as well. So we went and the nurse assured me that it was not thrush just some breast milk on his tongue. Megan, my sister, went with me because I was a little scared to go out into the real world by myself with him for the first time. He is in the 94% in height and 71% in weight. I went home feeling good that he was okay and not sick.
Well over the weekend the white stuff in his mouth only got worse. It has gone down his throat, on his cheeks, lips, and under his tongue. So this morning he woke up and had a low grade fever and his throat seemed scratchy. So I immediately called the doctor to make another appointment. We went in at 11 today and what do you know....he has a bad case of thrush!! I was so mad that they told me he didn't have it on Friday and now it has gotten ten times worse. So on the way home I stopped by and picked up the medicine that he now needs to take for 14 days... yes it takes 2 weeks for it to go away. During that time I now get to was my nipples with soap and water before and after each feeding. It already takes me about 45 minutes to feed so that will add to the daily routine in hopes I do not get it on my nipples.

McCoy is here!
So much has happened and finally I am getting on here to let you know that McCoy Shea is finally here!! I am hoping that the picture will post and you can see the cutest baby in America!
I ended up going into the hospital Monday May 3rd to begin the induction process. We were suppose to be at the hospital at 7 and before that was a little crazy. We were trying to buy a new car that day not realizing that we were going to head to the hospital later that night. Matt's mother and I drove an hour away to get the car, got lost, came back, and headed to the hospital right after.
At the hospital they started cervidal(sp) to thin out my cervix. That was done around 8:30ish. At 2:30 in the morning my water broke, to everyone's surprise. They then started giving me potosin(sp) at 3:00a.m. That started some major contractions! They were nonstop about 45 seconds to a minutes a part. At 6:30 I was given an epidural because I was done with the pain. Everytihng seemed to be moving a long great, I was dilating fine and the nurse said McCoy would be there by noon.....well 12 came and went and still no baby. I got stuck at 7 cm for a couple of hours so they stopped the potosin for a while and started it back up seeing if it would help any. My cervix was not thinning past 90% and they started talking c-section. I was sooo upset! I just thought that since everything had been going like it should that I would have him naturally.
Well 6:00p.m I started having major pressure like I had to push. The Dr. gave the okay to start pushing even though i was 90% effaced and dilated to 9 and a half. The pushing began and did not stop until 8:54 p.m when the big guy came into the world. He is 9lbs 0 ounces and 21.5 inches long. He is the most perfect thing and I hope to keep updated with pictures.
just tried to the picture thing and it did not work again so will get Matt to try because I am horrible with the computer...sorry!!
