Too Cute

Here is the best dog ever (Bodie) with the new comer (Milo). Bodie is still not very fond of Milo yet but hopefully he will come around. Milo is doing good health wise but because of the cold weather it is still a struggle to try and do the potty training thing. He does not like being in the crate at night when we go to bed and whines A LOT! He is really good at testing my patience at 7 in the morning when I could be sleeping in.

Paint is on the Walls!

This is the beginning stages of one nice nursery! On Tuesday my mom, Lauren, Hector, and Nora Joy came over to help stripe the nursery. When my mom and I did the first stripe in the middle of thewall where the crib is I was not to sure about it. I loved the solid blue so much I was afraid that is would not be what I was looking for.

I text Matt about it and sent him a picture then called Lauren to come over and get her opinion. After much debate and hearing every one's opinion, we decided the stripes were a go but decided to space out the darker stripe a little bit.

My frustration level went high pretty quick because of all the measuring and then making sure you were taping a straight line. My family had done striping before but I guess when it is in your house you worry about it a little bit more. We finally got a system going of my mom measuring out the stripes, I would tape the stripes, and Lauren would begin to paint the stripes. I would get aggravated and have my mom come help me often, but in the end it was completely worth it. It looked amazing!

After a loaded day of staring at the walls my mom and I went fabric shopping to try and figure out what other fabrics I would use in the room. We went to Jo-Ann's and were successful. We then came back to my house and Matt was home. We got to reveal the room to him and he loved it! It is so much fun showing someone for the first time because it is the shock factor that you see in their face. It will be really fun to show someone at the end who has not seen anything through the process.

Insperation

This is a nursery that inspires me. I found it on a blog called designdazzles. I love how soft this is and how it's so easy on the eyes. It is so simple with the colors and at the same time so elegant.

One Christmas Down

Tonight we went to Matt's mom's side of the family Christmas at his grandmothers house. Some of the family we only see once a year so the little ones look so much bigger. I was able to keep my niece tonight so it was a little bit of a trail period to see how we both did. Everything went great, but she is an awesome baby so it was not too difficult. I finally got a picture of Matt and I and also of my baby bump! This is at 19 weeks and 5 days.

On My Wish List****

Although I did not take this picture and put it up, it is from the internet and I did it all by myself! This is a crib and changing table that is listed on Craigslist that I really like! I have been emailing with the people and hope if it all works out we will get them on Tuesday. Matt's parents have decided to get them for us for one big present for all of the showers. But since I can't wait I am going to be able to go ahead and put them in the room before the showers begin!! I can't wait!!

Times Flies When You're...Busy?

Once again it has been a little to long since the last blog. I have 2 more days of school and I am out for 2 weeks. Right now it seems like the time has flown by and I am not sure what all I have accomplished. I feel like I have so much to do and am on a count down that seems to be going really fast. We are slowly trying to move things around the house. We are making the guest bedroom into the nursery and the office to a guest bedroom. I know everything I want to do but a week goes by and I realize I have not done anything that I wanted or needed to get done. On a new note in my life....

My husband Matt has been wanting a new dog ever since our Boston Terrier got ran over at the age of 1. So after a year of very stern "no's" I finally gave in to an "okay." He was going to get the puppy for Christmas but it ended up being an early Christmas present from his parents. So we have the puppy now, another Boston Terrier, that is like having a child....I think. Three mornings a week I take him, Milo, to Matt's grandmothers for the day and pick him up on the way home, already a babysitter in the picture. She loves him and we are so glad she is willing to take care of him ALL DAY!

Well we got him at 6 weeks and he is now almost 8 weeks. The other morning we woke up and Milo started throwing up. We did not take him to the vet but watched him closely and he seemed to be fine. Today he started coughing up blood. Not only that but he has worms....one X-ray and 274 dollars later we think he will be okay. And for the record the dog is not something that I really wanted but gave into because Matt is so damn persistent.

On a less expensive note we went to the doctor yesterday and had our first "normal" experience. We met with a new doctor and Matt and I both really liked him. He joked around and just seemed to have time to talk to us. Matt asked every question he could think of and at the end of the appointment I was on a very strict no whites diet.... if you only knew me! Carbs are my life, I would die without them. So I am sure we are going to have to find a happy medium somewhere because 20 weeks on just healthy food might kill me, literally.

One day I will get a cute prego picture of me on here. I don't think I have taken any and that's just sad!

Enjoying Family

I just got back to real life after 9 great days off with lots of family. I went to North Carolina to visit with my sister, brother in law, and niece. My mother and I flew in Saturday night. Our flight was at 10, we landed at 11:30 and had an hour and a half drive.....we got lost. Needlees to say we went to bed really late. Being there with all of them was so much fun! We flew back Monday night so it was a quick trip but worth it.

I also did lots of shopping for Christmas during the break. Including a little for the new one coming. I got the fabric for the room and I can't wait for Christmas break to get started in there.

On Thanksgiving we went to Matt's side of the family for dinner. Matt cooked the turkeys, which he has never done before, and they turned out great. It is so much fun seeing family you have not seen all year. There is so much going on with everyone. On Sunday we celebrated Thanksgiving with my side for lunch. The 3 great grand children were there and I think we all realized how much fun it is to have little ones around again. Isabella is the smartest and cutest thing every. Caleb and Nora Joy pretty much slept and ate the entire time, exactly what new borns are suppose to do.

So now we are back to school for 3 weeks. It was really nice to have a break from everything but at the same time good to be back to the routine of everything. Tonight we go to our 3d ultasound to get a video and pictures of the little one....it's so exciting!

So Much to Say!!!

Well although it has been a week I feel like 2 weeks because I have done so much! First of all I was suppose to have my 3d ultrasound this past Monday.... well on the way home from work last Friday I got way to anxious and decided to call and move my appointment up to Saturday. So Saturday Matt and I had a date day, because it is cheaper, and then went to our appointment to hopefully find out the sex of our baby. Well we now know and it's a boy!!!!!!!! This is what Matt and I have thought all along so we were very excited. Matt I think was a little more because he has always wanted to boy to be the oldest and look after the little sisters. They did tell us that it was 80% because we were only 15 weeks but we think we saw what we needed to. Of course the little one was doing flips and seemed very alert. We will be going back at 17 weeks for the package we had paid for and get a 10 minute video with lots of pictures.

So Saturday was over and the Sunday shopping began. Now that I new it was a boy you could not stop me from planning the nursery in my head. My mother, aunt, and myself went to Pennys Outlet to find some great deals on whatever we could get our hands on. We also went to TjMaxx and More and loaded up. When we left for home 6 hours later we could barely fit ourselves into the car, literally. My mom had to go back up the next day with a trailer to get the furniture we had all bought.

So at that point we had told my family and Matt's sister but waited to tell Matt's parents because they were coming over for dinner Sunday evening. I had bought a bear earlier and a blue blanket and put that out for them to see. They were so excited for us. Now that we know what it is, it just seems a little more real, along with the belly I have grown to love.

Tuesday we had our real doctor's apointment and once again we were not impressed. I asked the doctor about the flu shot I had gotten and he told me to get when I had first come in at 7 weeks. He said it was a "soft" area to get it in your frist trimester. HE DIDN'T TELL ME TO WAIT!! So once again I have something I was not told to hang over my head for a little while. I thought that would be it and a normal visit would continue, but I was wrong. He starts to tell me about my blood work and what blood type I am when my husband chimes in....um I hate to interrupt but I think you are looking at the wrong persons file. The doctor had a file up with a picture on it, so things like this don't happen, and it was not me. My husband then looked at the name on the computer and it was not me. The doctor then started shuffling through some papers and eventually asked my last name.....seriously??? This is a doctor I have heard nothing but good things about from everyone I talk to. Needless to say we scheduled the next appointment with a different doctor within the same practice. We are both hoping for a good visit next time.

So this week has been full of fun things. I am trying to clean out my office and extra bedroom because everything is about to change....need a baby's room to put everything I have already bought in. On Saturday my mother I am going to North Carolina to visit my sister and niece. We will be back and Monday and then she is coming to visit for a little over a week. I am so excited about this week coming up getting things done and no school!!!

A long week is over and a new one begins

So I am writing after many days of stress, crying, and hopefully now some relief. I am a Special Ed. teacher in a K-2 class. I have students on all different levels. I truly love what I do but it STRESSES ME OUT! Everyday you walk in it is a big unknown. Your day is determined on how your kids day go. So last week was a very rough week and on Thursday in the middle of the day I broke down crying. I was emotionally and physically tired, my students had finally worn me down. To add to that I have a huge deadline coming up so I went into work on Saturday to try and play catch-up. I did do a lot of shopping and retail therapy so I think I am better this week.

Yesterday was the start of 14 weeks for me!! I am so happy that I have made it here. I hear so many stories of people who it took years to conceive or they are at the point of finding out they are unable to have a baby altogether. That has been a fear of mine for years. I guess since I have wanted to be a mother my entire life to know that I couldn't would kill me.

So moving on to happier thoughts I made an appointment for a 3d ultrasound next week. We are hoping to find out the gender at that point. Then on Tuesday we go for our regular doctor's appointment. So a lot of exciting things are coming up! Next week is also my last week of school before our Thanksgiving break. I am hoping to go clothes shopping as well as fabric shopping for the baby's room. I can't wait!!!

A Long Night and Rainy Day

I had a long day yesterday! After working yesterday I went straight to babysit 3 very cute little kids and left there about 10:30. I called my mom on the way home to say hello and she informed me that my cousin Jennifer was in the hospital and probably going to have the baby pretty soon. My dog had not been let out since 6:30 in the morning so I hurried home and let him out and headed right back to the hospital. Around 1:00 in the morning we got to see the new bundle of joy! He was 8lbs. 6oz and healthy. He was born around 11:30 so no Halloween baby....we were very happy for that. I left the hospital and headed back home after a long night.
Of course the night was not quite over. I got in a road block which might not seem like a big deal but not having your license on you or an insurance card at 2 in the morning made me a little more suspicious to them. After the cop asked where my license and insurance card was and not having it he asked why I was out so late and had I been drinking. I told him about a new baby and he said congrats! I was finally home at 2:30.
So needless to say I woke up at 12 o'clock this afternoon to a rainy day. I went out and ran some errands that needed to get done and had a nice quiet lunch at Panara Bread. I then went to Barnes and Noble and got a vanilla latte. I came home and got in some comfy clothes and ate some leftover cake.... It has been a nice day.

I had a pic to put up today but still having trouble trying to post pictures so hopefully there will be more soon.

Nerve Racking Doctor's Appointment

Well today marked our 2nd doctor's appointment. I will start by saying that everything is good but up to the point of finding that out I wanted to cry...along with Matt. After waiting 45minutes to see the doctor we were very excited about hearing the heart beat.
The doctor came in and did the "Doppler" thing where you can hear the heart beat. After 30 seconds of not hearing it he said, "it sometimes takes a few minutes..." After 4 minutes Matt piped in and said "does it normally take this long"... no response from the doctor. A total of 5 awkward minutes later of silence he tells us we need to go to another room. I wanted to ball my eyes out at this point because I knew something was not right.
We get in there and immediately I lay down and he does not even close the door to the room. He does a sonogram and there was our beautiful baby with a strong heart beat of 160 bpm. He said because of my bladder and placenta he could not hear it using the first device.
Matt and I were finally able to take a breath of fresh air and I left there emotionally exhausted!

It's My First!

Hello to the one person that somehow managed to click on a link they had no idea about and happen to find this......
Well my name is Jillian and I have just decided to embark on this new piece of my life. I did not major in English so sorry for any typos or misspellings. So if you happen to be an English major I am not sure if you will be able to follow my blog without cringing at least once during a sit down.
I am 25 years old and have been married to the love of my life for 2 years. Matt and I dated for 7 years before getting married so as he would say when someone ask how long we have been together, 9 years!! We have a Siberian Husky, Bodie and a little one on the way...
I am officially 11 weeks pregnant today. This is something I have wanted my entire life. As a little girl I would carry around a doll that I still have to this day. Matt and I are sooo excited about this new part of our life and we look forward to every appointment that we have. Tomorrow is our 2nd appointment to see how everything is going.
I also have a new joy in my life, my niece Nora Joy! She was born October 5 2009, 8lbs 3oz. She is healthy and happy, just like her gushing parents. My sister lives in North Carolina but is here for a little bit while her husband is in Egypt with the Army.
Although that is a big part of my life I also have an amazing family that is a very important in my life. I have 3 sisters, my youngest, Lauren, with the baby, Megan a flight attendant, and Callie my oldest who is a buyer. My mom is the most amazing woman who I look up to everyday and my dad who always keeps us on our toes.
I love every part of my life and can't wait to let y'all have a peek in!
